Im not going to be around tomorrow in all likelyhood fellas, so I thought Id go ahead and get a thread started in case you guys want to have some predraft talk.

My thoughts, I think the draft will go pretty close to form at the top, if there are any surprises I think it could be Young or Leinart falling a little further than thought. Some teams just dont need quarterbacks.

As the 1st round gets into the 20's, I expect to see alot of jockeying around, teams moving up, teams moving down. I will be surprised if Pittsburgh doesnt make a move to move ahead of Carolina to take LenDale White.

I think there is very little difference between a player between 20-30 and even a guy in the 3rd round of this draft. Championships are won in the 3rd and 4th round, I think this draft will show that. Lots of depth at corner, safety, and tight end.

After giving it some thought, it really wouldnt surprise me if JHam is taken in round 5 or 6 even though I feel he is a 7th rounder. It only takes one team to fall in love with you, and while I dont think he is that great of a football player, Im sure he interviewed really well with alot of teams based upon his personality.

Last, my steals of the draft are Antonio Cromartie, Manny Lawson, Dominique Byrd, and Charles Gordon. *insert flowers for algernon jokes here_________*

I'd be happy with that pick, even after all the crap that has came out about him, like him being overweight, pulled hamstring, poor pro-day workout, and questionable work ethic, I think he is the second best RB in this years draft behind Bush. Like always I may be wrong but if he falls to the Steelers he may be the steal of the draft. Go Steelers!

I'll make a guess that Hamilton will go in either Round 6 or 7 to the Cleveland Browns.

If there was interest, any interest at all I would trade the first pick for additonal picks. People keep saying that you don't want to be the next team that "passed on Michael Jordan" but one player can have much more of an impact in basketball than football. I just think more picks is the better way to go.
Sure Bush is a great player and from every interview I've seen Bush is a top notch character guy but it has been said that you can find great running backs late in the first round and in the middle rounds. Sure, look at people talking about how the Chargers messed up passing on the Chance to take Vick but ended up with one of the top 3 running backs in the league. A lot of pressure picking first and being the first pick.

ok with Mario Williams going #1, I would expect the Saints to either draft Bush or D'Brickishaw Ferguson. Brick was supposed to go to the Jets at 4. The jets would like to trade up and get bush but they would have to give up 4,29 and a 3rd rounder, thats steep. The saints would draft Ferguson at 4 and then likely a TE for Brees at 29. The Saints could shock the world and draft Vernon Davis at 2 or even 4, but if its me, Im drafting Bush.

The ramifications of those first 2 picks is going to change the top 10. A very good player is going to fall. Someone said its no fun that they announced the first pick tonight, its going to be even more fun tomorrow when everyone is trying hard to get up to #2. The saints will have the best draft now imo, it would take a screwup of epic proportions to botch this situation.

Sal Palantonio is reporting that the packers and raiders are looking to trade up to #2. I could see Javon Walker packaged in a deal with the #5 pick and another draft pick to get Bush.

I would think that the Jets would take Bush over Leinart, they have wanted Bush all along. If Bush isnt there, they would want Ferguson. I think Leinart is the least desirable of the 3 for them. Just going by what Ive heard.

If Bush is there at 4, and thats a HUGE if, they Jets WILL DRAFT HIM. They will pass on a quarterback to do so. They have Ramsey and Pennington. In fact, even if Bush isnt there, I bet the Jets dont take a QB with their first pick unless they trade down.

Things are gonna be crazy tommorow at the top of this draft. If the Saints stay at number 2 and take ANYONE other than Reggie Bush then they are stupid. Im not sayin that because I believe Bush will be that good, Im saying that because theres a lot of teams out there that think Bush is that good and will trade up and give up a lot for him.

Texans made a good move, there will be a good running back fall to them in the second round or they may even trade back up to get one. Hopefully they make the right decison with that pick and that would be icing on the cake. Reggie Bush, however will NOT be the Michael Jordan of the football. He will be a good all around back that helps your team when he touches the ball, in kick returns and receiving. Hes not a guy whos gonna move the chains every drive for you though carrying the football. Hes a homerun hitter that in the minors hit for a good average, but in the majors will hit .250 though still get his homeruns. Hes not gonna find wide open spaces to run through in the NFL like he did at USC but is still gonna be dangerous. USC used him perfectly though, if he lands with the right team that can utilize him like USC did, with another solid running back sharing carries then it could be something special. Good move by the Texans, because theres no point in putting 9 or 10 million a year into a running back. Look at it this way, the Colts have a good offense. Though to keep their stud defensive end Freeney they let Edge walk. Productive runnings back are a dime a dozen, remember that. Also recent history proves that elite running backs dont always win championships.

Back to the draft though, if Bush falls to 3 and the Titans are there. Do they take him? Do they draft down and still get the qb they want? If the Saints pass on Bush, the Titans would be sitting very pretty indeed with 3 qb's to choose from in the top 10 and some willing team to well...rip off with extra first day picks. Maybe they can just switch places with the Jets and get their extra first rounder and pick the guy they wanted all along with the number 4 pick. I just hope Green Bay doesnt get Bush, that would [censored] me off lol.

I dont think the Texans will take a running back, unless they take one sort of late. I believe they would be happy with Dominic Davis and Im sure since Kubiak comes from the Denver system that they feel they can just throw anyone in at running back if they can get the o-line going in the right direction.

One thing that nobody is mentioning about Bush. I have never in my lifetime seen as good as an offensive line that he played with at USC. Lutui, Matua, and Justice are as good as it gets. Justice may be better than Ferguson, only time will tell but if you see all of the highlight videos, those linemen are almost at the next level before bush even turns the corner. Bush is a great open field runner but its going to be alot harder for him to get in the open field in the nfl. Diets says running backs are a dime a dozen and I agree, but wide receivers/kick returners/punt returners/running backs all in one package arent a dime a dozen. Faulk took the Rams from the outhouse to the penthouse. Bush looks to me to create so many matchup problems, he would have made Andre Johnson and Eric Moulds even better.

LenDale White fails drug test

The LA Daily News reports USC RB LenDale White tested positive during an NFL drug test.
"(The NFL) ain't worried about it," White said. "The issue's been addressed." The power back's stock has been in a free fall since the Combine, when the test is believed to have been administered, and yet another off-field question mark could push him completely off teams' draft boards. An MRI in early April revealed White has a torn hamstring. Apr. 29 - 9:21 am et


I have no idea how this will effect his stock. If Im Carolina or Pittsburgh, Im still taking him.
